Today I will talk about this very interesting program, VMware.

VMare is a software that allows the installation of one (or more) operating system within an operating system. Was it complicated? See the picture below to understand:

Or rather, you work with any system that runs on multiple platforms and need to test all of them ... VMware will be very useful, since you do not need to partition your HD to be able to install each operating system.

Another important thing to know is that you can run more than one virtual installation at the same time. Imagine this: Your computer runs a Windows Vista. But you need to use Linux Ubuntu and Windows XP. With aVMware you can run all three at the same time (of course you have to have a pretty powerful machine).

At the time you install a virtual machine, you set a total size (in GB) for installation. VMware writes all the necessary files in a file.

Download it and install it on your computer ... we will install a Windows XP within Windows XP Lite! But for what?
Well, you should know that the most 'explodes' with an operating system that story is to install and uninstall software. So I want a Windows installation to test some software! I will use and abuse it heheheh

Installation is very simple! The famous "Next, Next, Next ...". Once installed, open it and follow the following procedures:

1) Click on "File / New / Virtual Machine ...";

Then click next:

2) On this screen, choose "Custom". For thus we can define the image size of RAM and when this facility will occupy:

3) On this screen check the box "New - Workstation 5."

4) On this screen, choose the operating system and the summer that will be installed.

5) Set a name for the installation and choose a location for the file to be saved. In my case, I'm putting on a separate drive ... where I store only.

6) Choose the number of processors that will be used.

7) When your RAM will be used for installation.

Choose the type of network connection that is used. Leave as 'NAT'.

9) I / O adapter I did not move.

10) Select the disk I did not move.

11) "Virtual Disk type" IDE I left with it.

12) Set the size of the 'partition'. That indeed is the total size of the file on disk that the virtual machine can have. If you arrive in the specified size, the operating system will complain that the disk is full.

13) Confirm the file name to be recorded with the operating system installed.

14) Now, note that installing this setting we are appearing in the bookmarks toolbar. Left:

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: When you click on the computer screen virtual focus is inside ... you can not move the mouse out of it. To get out of focus, Apert CTRL + ALT. So the focus leaves the virtual machine and returns to the operating system.

15) Insert the Windows installation CD in the CD and click on "Start this virtual machine".

Well, now the virtual machine will boot the virtual machine and it will load the data from the Windows CD (which is bootable).

Before you get carried away with the speed of the boot, I cut some pieces of the video. As the installation was set to 256 MB of RAM, the boot looks good long! But for the test perfectly!
