Creating a project site with Dreamweaver

In this post I will explain step by step how to set up a project site in Macromedia Dreamweaver. The strengths in defining projects are:
- Organization of files, because you see only the project files;
- Account setup FTP , which is very simple to make changes to the files online or even climb an update;
- If you rename a file that is being using in another, Dreamweaver will scan the project and update all the files that call the file was renamed;
To use the functionality of projects, you need to leave the bar Files visible (image below). Go in the "Windows / Files" or press F8.
After leaving the bar visible Files, let's create our project. Click on the "Site / New Site" in the window that opens, click the "Advanced" in the image below:
There are dozens of settings that can be made on this screen, I will explain only the settings required for the operation of the FTP.
On the left side, under "Local Info" has the basic settings:
- Site Name: Set a name for the project, which will appear in the list of projects;
- Local Root Folder: Enter the folder containing the files of the project, in our case is the folder where we put the PHP files. Do you remember what it is? C: \ wampp \ www
- Default Images Folder: Set the folder where the images of this project are, is not required to inform this option;
- HTTP address: You can enter the URL where the web site, this option is not mandatory.
In the side menu, select "Remote Info":
- Access: Choose the FTP option;
- FTP Host: Enter the FTP host to connect;
- Directory Host: Enter the folder where you will be connected;
- Login: User FTP;
- Password: Password of the FTP;
The other settings are not needed, click OK and the project will open automatically. Note that the bar carried the Files folder structure of your project.
Well, let's do a test, you recalls that in the lecture on forms created two files: form.php, which calls the file processa.php. Well, I'll rename the file to processa.php form2.php. Below is the message that Dreamweaver shows me:
That is, he knows that the file form.php LINKED with processa.php (the action of the form), then he's asking if you want to update the reference to the file that was renamed. This is very useful, because when we are working with many files, sometimes we change the name of some updating and forget another. Needless to say the mess it causes.
SOME TIPS
Well, I'll spend a few tips.
- If you want to download a file or folder from FTP to your computer, click on it with the right mouse button and choose "GET";
- If you want to climb (put the file in FTP) a file or folder, click on it with the right mouse button and choose "PUT";
- If you want to upload or download the updated files, for example, if you have a version less current on your computer, click on it with the right mouse button and choose "Synchronize", and choose GET or PUT. It will test all files, and based on date, it will show all files that are different.
- With a file open, if you want to update it in the FTP, press Ctrl + U. + SHUFT He will come up automatically.
- Choosing the option "Expand to show local and remote sites" you have the FTP can connect and see the local and remote files. See the images below:
Well, I think I gave you guys have an idea of how to work with projects. I use Zend Studio to program but I have always set the project in Dreamweaver, as do I change my sites at work and at home. That is, if I make a change from home, when I open at work I'll have the outdated files, then I run down and get to synchronize only the files that are newer on the server, but would have to download the entire site.

Well, this error always happens to me when the password error. For often I copy and paste the password, i did not realize I pasted a blank space at the beginning or end .. got it?

Actually soh you will need to configure the FTP if you want to access your files on any HOST external (outside of your computer).
When you work with files on your computer, do not necessarily need to run an Apache or something ... Would not you will need to make the configuration screen 'Remote Info' dig?

You can go to the preview mode 'Remote' and delete the file by selecting it and pressing the 'delete'.

About soh username and password you can ask to check the HOST (address type: http://ftp.seusite.com.br ). The problem almost certainly is the data connection or the server.
About FAPESP is as follows, where it is buying up domains in Brazil (I always buy it). A domain can have ties with 3 different people: 1) The owner, 2) A person who pays and 3) It is the coach.
I think what he means is that you need to create a login (in registro.br called ID) so he could transfer the IDs for you.
By doing this, you have the autonomy to change the DNS for example.
